HeY Architects challenges New Ideas in Rational Architecture

HeY Architects was founded at 02.11.2020 and has since demonstrated how architecture can be a visible device of communication.
Architecture communicates, it can try to achieve an ambition in this case it is active and takes a position: It might enable, facilitate, activate, calm or care depending on the ambition. By this it manifests itself, it became apparent and serves. In this communicative perspective HeY Architects conceives new buildings as engines for future innovation in which the design process is an essential focus point. This process is lead within the practice on the base of arguments within the group. A collective approaches the project through internal dialogue and early communication with the client, the users and any stake holders involved or even touched by the project. This Dialogue leads to a process of research, tests and variations resulting in clear decisions that are due to the early involvement of many stake holders prone to general acceptance and support. HeY Architects has in this way realized many successful projects, from small buildings to large scale urban plans, which have connected groups with seemingly contradictory interests.
Buildings communicate with their context. The surrounding characteristics can be absorbed, commented on and changed all depending on the goal of the architectural operation. A building can be an icon to create identity or it can make way to give space to nature. HeY Architects is determined to create excellent solutions to specific issues users, clients and the site impose. Not only on the outside, the interior seems to have been lost in the contemporary ‘battle of the facades’. Whilst the exterior communicates to society the interior is of great influence to the users. It can isolate, concentrate, gather and facilitate all kinds of different activity. An interior can stimulate and therefore a design process with different directions often exposes alternative and possibilities.
Also in terms of urbanism communications is a decisive factor as it concerns the creation of public space, the ultimate place space for communication. This is shaped by HeY Architects not only through its buildings but also through large scale urbanism and research. This combination of architecture with urbanism allows connection of the large scale with the intimate scale, the connection of the collective with the individual. HeY Architects’ urban planning has the ambition to increase the economical and sustainable potential of the area through clear spatial interventions.
An early research into different scenarios in combination with coinciding financial examination is the strength of the HeY Architects approach. In this stage the consequences of the options are clearly visualized providing accessible basis for discussion in order to create a project attractive to all stake holders. In contemporary practice the architect has a role of connector and spatial expert centered between public and specialists. The architect visualizes the process and creates understanding for the work that has been conceived in teamwork with the other involved specialists.

In a range of in-depth publications HeY Architects explored the theoretic side of urban planning and architecture adding context and direction to the work. As part of the research experiments with custom made software have explored the involvement of parametric technology in the design process, the consequences of future technologies are also a subject and the result of all research inspires the work of HeY Architects and allows for innovation.
